Length and pacing

The great news about this course is that you can complete it at whatever days and times of week you’d like since it is asynchronous (self-paced). It’ll take you about 2 hours to work through this course. You can do it in one sitting or pop in whenever you’d like, logging in and out as needed. If plans change and you decide you do not need this course because you decide not to take an online or blended course, it's ok! You can always come back and take it later, even once you've started! Along those lines, you can keep this course in your dashboard and come back to it for future reference.

Digital Badge

When you complete the required assignments in this course you will earn a Learning Online 101 Badge certifying your readiness for digital learning that you can display in your Canvas profile. Instructors may require the Learning Online 101 as a prerequisite to their course. Great news - once you earn your badge, you do not need to take this course again! You can display your badge as evidence that you are prepared for online learning!

 Learning Online 101 Modules

You can view contents in each module by selecting the Modules button on the left navigation menu. Modules can be completed in any order, however all assignments within each module must be completed to earn the Learning Online 101 Badge.

Please review each module carefully and complete the short quiz or assignment at the end. Once you complete all modules and quizzes/assignments, you will receive the Learning Online 101 Achievement Badge. There is more information on Badging at the completion of the course.

Each module is structured the same, with three components:

  • Overview and Learning Outcomes:  Brief description of the topics covered in the module and what you can expect to learn from the module.
  • Content:  Detailed information about the topic with some interactive elements
  • Knowledge Check:  Short quiz to see what you’ve learned
